Edward Harris, EA, has been preparing income taxes since 1984 and is enrolled to practice before the Internal Revenue Service. Enrolled agents (EAs) are America’s tax experts. An enrolled agent is a federally authorized tax practitioner empowered by the U.S. Department of the Treasury to represent taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Enrolled agent status is the highest credential awarded by the IRS. The EA credential is recognized across all 50 U.S. states.
Edward is also a licensed securities representative. A registered representative, also called a general securities representative, a stockbroker, or an account executive, is an individual who is licensed to sell securities and has the legal power of an agent in the United States.

Edward began the practice of preparing income tax returns and representing clients in his hometown in Southern California. In 1990 he moved to Seattle and started North West Tax Specialists. Meanwhile, he also worked for the clothing company Eddie Bauer, overseeing their tax department. During this time, he was selected to be part of a State of Washington committee, which was appointed by then Governor Gary Locke to help the state develop ways to make the Washington tax code more efficient and business friendly. In 2001 he decided to return to private practice and to concentrate on growing North West Tax Specialists. Today, with his help his new firm Tax Resource Center serves over 2,500 individual and business clients and represents clients at all levels of government: from the IRS, to the State of Washington, local agencies and all government entities. Tax Resource Center also prepares income taxes, sales and use tax reports and compiles payroll and related services. In 2010 Edward decided to become more active in the Washington State Society of Enrolled Agents and through that opportunity has been able to meet with members of the US Congress and Senate and interact with a seated US Tax Court Judge.

In 2013 he became President of the Washington State Society of Enrolled Agents and has since worked with more than 1,100 Enrolled Agents in Washington State and many more at the National level. In 2013 he earned the designation of NTPI Fellow, a designation awarded to those with significant expertise in the representation of taxpayers. Edward and his wife Gail, who have been married since 1996, enjoy hitting the open roads their Harleys, from short trips across the state to cross country trips. While as a young adult, Edward was an avid scuba diver, spending most summers diving with his father at Catalina Island in California, today he spends his free time showing English Bulldogs with his wife Gail.

Edward is active in his children and grandchildren’s lives and believes there is no greater pleasure in life than spending time with family.
